Del the Funky Homosapien is an American rapper and producer born in Oakland, California, on August 12, 1972. He first gained recognition in the early 1990s as a member of the Hieroglyphics collective and through his debut album I Wish My Brother George Was Here, which showcased his distinctive lyricism and funk-influenced production. Over the following decades, Del released a series of solo projects and collaborative works, including the critically regarded Both Sides of the Brain and the Deltron 3030 concept album with Dan the Automator and Kid Koala. His style blends intricate wordplay, humor, and social commentary, establishing him as a respected figure in alternative and underground hip-hop.
