Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip hop collective formed in Staten Island, New York, in 1992. The group is known for its dense, gritty production and intricate lyricism, drawing heavily from martial arts films and Five-Percent Nation philosophy. Their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), released in 1993, is widely regarded as a landmark in hip hop history. The collective consists of nine core members—RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa—each of whom pursued successful solo careers while remaining part of the group. Wu-Tang Clan’s influence extends beyond music, shaping fashion, slang, and business models in hip hop culture throughout the 1990s and beyond.
