Solange Knowles is an American singer, songwriter, and actress known for her work in alternative R&B and neo soul. Born in Houston, Texas, she began her career as a backup dancer and later released her debut album Solo Star in 2002. Over the following years, she developed a distinctive artistic voice, exploring themes of identity, Black womanhood, and personal growth across albums such as Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams and the critically acclaimed A Seat at the Table.
