Linda McCartney

Linda McCartney (1941–1998) was an American-born photographer, musician, and animal-rights activist who became a prominent figure in British popular culture after marrying Paul McCartney in 1969. She played keyboards and sang backing vocals with Wings throughout the 1970s, contributing to albums such as Red Rose Speedway and Band on the Run. Beyond music, McCartney was an accomplished photographer whose work appeared in magazines and gallery exhibitions, and she co-authored several vegetarian cookbooks that helped popularize plant-based cuisine in the UK and the United States. She remained an outspoken advocate for animal welfare until her death from breast cancer in 1998.
