Arvo Pärt is an Estonian composer born in 1935 in Paide, Estonia. He is widely recognized as one of the most influential living composers of classical and contemporary classical music, particularly known for developing a minimalist compositional style called tintinnabuli. His music is characterized by its spiritual depth, simplicity, and use of silence as a compositional element. Pärt's works often draw inspiration from medieval and Renaissance music traditions, as well as from his deep religious faith.
