Bio
Sade is a British smooth-jazz and sophisti-pop band formed in London in 1982, fronted by Nigerian-born singer Helen Folasade Adu. After early club performances they signed to Epic and released the platinum debut Diamond Life in 1984, which spawned the global hits “Your Love Is King” and “Smooth Operator.” Subsequent multi-platinum albums Promise, Stronger Than Pride, Love Deluxe and Lovers Rock refined their understated blend of soul, jazz and quiet-storm R&B, while the 2010 return Soldier of Love reaffirmed their enduring appeal. The group has won four Grammy Awards and sold more than 50 million records worldwide.
