The Prodigy are an English electronic music group formed in 1990 in Braintree, Essex. The project is led by producer and keyboardist Liam Howlett, with vocalists Maxim and the late Keith Flint. Their sound fuses big-beat breakbeats with punk energy and rave culture, helping to define the 1990s UK dance scene. Debut album Experience (1992) brought hits such as “Charly” and “Everybody in the Place,” while Music for the Jilted Generation (1994) and The Fat of the Land (1997) established them as global festival headliners. Singles like “Firestarter” and “Breathe” topped charts worldwide, and their aggressive live shows became a benchmark for electronic acts. After a brief hiatus following Flint’s death in 2019, the remaining members continue to perform and release new material, maintaining the band’s reputation for high-impact electronic music.
