Bio

Kenny Rogers was an American singer, songwriter, actor, record producer, and entrepreneur whose career spanned more than six decades. He rose to prominence in the 1970s with a string of crossover hits that blended country with pop sensibilities, becoming one of the best-selling artists of all time. His warm baritone voice and storytelling style helped define the countrypolitan sound of the era. Among his signature recordings are "Lucille," "The Gambler," "Lady," and the duet "Islands in the Stream" with Dolly Parton. Rogers also appeared in films and television, most notably portraying the title character in the made-for-TV movie The Gambler and its sequels. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013, cementing his legacy as one of country music’s most enduring figures.
