Bio
Shaun Ryder is an English singer, songwriter and television personality best known as the frontman of the alternative dance band Happy Mondays. Born in Little Hulton, Greater Manchester, he rose to prominence in the late 1980s with the Madchester scene, co-writing the group’s signature hits “Step On” and “Kinky Afro.” Beyond Happy Mondays, Ryder formed Black Grape, whose 1995 debut album It’s Great When You’re Straight… Yeah topped the UK charts. He has also appeared on reality television and published an autobiography chronicling his experiences with addiction and recovery.
