Marcia Griffiths is a Jamaican reggae singer born in Kingston in 1949. She began her career in the late 1960s and became one of the most prominent female voices in reggae, recording with producers such as Coxsone Dodd and working with the legendary backing vocal group the I-Threes alongside Rita Marley and Judy Mowatt. Griffiths is best known for her 1970 hit "Feel Like Jumping" and her 1989 duet "Electric Boogie," which became a worldwide dance anthem. Her work spans lovers rock, roots reggae, and rocksteady, and she continues to perform and record into the present day.
