Bio

Peter, Paul and Mary were an American folk group formed in New York City in 1961. The trio consisted of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. They became one of the most popular folk acts of the 1960s, known for their harmonious vocals and socially conscious repertoire. The group achieved commercial success with hits such as "If I Had a Hammer," "Puff, the Magic Dragon," and their version of Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind." They performed at the 1963 March on Washington and remained active advocates for civil rights and peace causes throughout their career. The trio disbanded after Mary Travers's death in 2009.
