Dwele is an American neo-soul singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Detroit, Michigan. He emerged in the early 2000s with a smooth blend of soul, jazz, and R&B, releasing his debut album Subject in 2003. Dwele gained wider recognition through collaborations with artists such as Kanye West, Common, and Slum Village. His work often features introspective lyrics and live instrumentation, and he has released several albums including Some Kinda... and Greater Than One. Dwele remains active in the Detroit music scene and continues to tour and record independently.
