Bio
Andrew Weatherall (1963–2020) was an English DJ, producer, and remixer whose work helped shape the UK’s post-rave and indie-dance scenes. Beginning as a club DJ in the late 1980s, he gained prominence with his remix of Primal Scream’s “Loaded,” which fused rock with acid-house rhythms and became a defining track of the era. Beyond remixing, Weatherall produced and collaborated with artists such as Beth Orton, the Sabres of Paradise (his own group), and Two Lone Swordsmen. His productions often blended elements of dub, punk, krautrock, and psychedelia, creating a distinctive sound that influenced successive generations of electronic musicians. Weatherall remained an active figure in underground music until his death in February 2020, remembered for his genre-defying approach and enduring impact on British dance culture.
