Bio
Bobby Shmurda is an American rapper from Brooklyn, New York, who rose to prominence in 2014 with the viral hit "Hot Boy." Born Ackquille Jean Pollard on August 4, 1994, in Miami, he moved to Flatbush, Brooklyn, at a young age and became associated with the GS9 collective. His breakout single led to a major-label deal with Epic Records and the release of the mixtape "Shmurda She Wrote." In late 2014, Shmurda was arrested on conspiracy and weapons charges, pleading guilty in 2016 and serving nearly six years in prison before his release in 2021.
