Bio
Carl Perkins was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who helped pioneer rockabilly music in the 1950s. Born in Tiptonville, Tennessee, he is best known for writing and recording the hit "Blue Suede Shoes," which became a rock and roll standard. Perkins' guitar style and songwriting influenced many artists, including the Beatles and Elvis Presley. He continued to perform and record throughout his life, blending rockabilly, country, and rock and roll elements until his death in 1998.
