Bio
Orchestre Lamoureux is a French symphony orchestra founded in Paris in 1881 by conductor Charles Lamoureux. It quickly became one of the city’s leading ensembles, championing both the French repertoire and contemporary works of its time. The orchestra is especially noted for its historic performances of Wagner and for premiering several important French compositions. Today it continues to perform a broad classical and operatic repertoire from its base in France.
