Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock were an American hip hop duo formed in Harlem, New York in 1985. The group consisted of Rob Base (Robert Ginyard) and DJ EZ Rock (Rodney Bryce). They are best known for their 1988 single "It Takes Two," which became a landmark track in hip hop and dance music history. The duo's music blended old school hip hop with house elements, helping to pioneer the hip house genre. Their debut album It Takes Two achieved platinum status and featured the title track that sampled Lyn Collins' "Think (About It)." The group disbanded after their second album, but their influence on hip hop and dance music remains significant.
