DABO, born Daisuke Ashida on January 6, 1975, in Noda, Japan, is a pioneering figure in Japanese hip-hop. Emerging in the late 1990s, he helped shape the J-rap scene with his distinctive flow and bilingual lyricism, blending English and Japanese. His early work with the group King Giddra and subsequent solo releases established him as one of the genre's most respected voices.
