Michel Amato, known professionally as The Hacker, is a French electro and techno producer born in Grenoble in 1973. He emerged in the mid-1990s as part of the French techno scene, releasing early EPs on labels such as Goodlife and International Deejay Gigolo. Amato became closely associated with the electroclash movement of the early 2000s, collaborating frequently with Miss Kittin on singles like "Frank Sinatra" and the album "First Album." His work blends electro, EBM, and techno, characterized by dark synth lines and minimal vocals.
