The Egyptian Lover (born Greg Broussard, August 31, 1963) is an American electronic musician, vocalist, and DJ from Los Angeles. He emerged in the early 1980s as a key figure in the West Coast electro scene, releasing influential singles such as "Egypt, Egypt" and albums on his own Egyptian Empire label. His work blends synthesized beats, vocoder vocals, and funk-inspired basslines, helping shape the sound that later fed into Miami bass and early hip-hop. Active for four decades, he continues to perform and release music that bridges classic electro with contemporary dance floors.
