Daveed Diggs is an American actor, rapper, and singer best known for originating the dual roles of Thomas Jefferson and the Marquis de Lafayette in the Broadway musical Hamilton. Born in Oakland, California, he began his career in hip-hop as a member of the experimental rap group clipping. before achieving mainstream recognition on stage and screen. Diggs has also appeared in television series such as Black-ish and voiced characters in animated features including Soul and Trolls World Tour.
