Manuela Kamosi, known professionally as Ya Kid K, is a Belgian-Congolese singer born in Kinshasa in 1973. She rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s as the frontwoman of the hip house group Technotronic, contributing vocals to international hits such as "Pump Up the Jam." Her energetic style and multilingual delivery helped define the hip house sound that blended hip-hop rhythms with electronic dance beats. Beyond Technotronic, Ya Kid K pursued solo projects and collaborations, maintaining a presence in the European dance music scene. Her work has been recognized for bridging African musical influences with Western club culture, and she remains noted for her distinctive voice on several dance anthems of the era.
