Bio
Moderat is a Berlin-based electronic music trio formed in 2002 by Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) and Apparat (Sascha Ring). The project blends the glitchy, bass-heavy style of Modeselektor with Apparat’s melodic, atmospheric approach, resulting in a distinctive sound that spans electronica and IDM. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2009, followed by “II” (2013) and “III” (2016), each exploring evolving production techniques and vocal collaborations. Live, Moderat are known for immersive, visually striking performances that have made them a staple on the international festival circuit.
