Jade Thirlwall, known professionally as JADE, is a British singer and songwriter born on 26 December 1992 in South Shields, United Kingdom. She rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Little Mix, formed on the eighth series of The X Factor in 2011. The group achieved significant commercial success, becoming the first and only group to win the competition and selling over 50 million records worldwide. As a solo artist, JADE has explored a more mature and experimental sound, drawing from pop, R&B, and electronic influences. Her debut solo single "Angel of My Dreams" was released in 2024, marking a new chapter in her career following Little Mix's hiatus. She continues to write and perform under her own name while maintaining her connection to her bandmates.
