J.Y. Park (Park Jin-young) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer born in Seoul on December 13, 1972. He rose to prominence in the 1990s with his own albums and later became one of the most influential figures in K-pop as the founder of JYP Entertainment. Beyond his solo work, he has written and produced numerous hits for artists on his label, including Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, TWICE, and Stray Kids. His production style blends pop, R&B, and dance elements, helping shape the global reach of K-pop. Park has also served as a judge and mentor on survival programs such as "SIXTEEN" and "Stray Kids," further cementing his role in discovering and developing new talent.
