Michel Teló is a Brazilian sertanejo singer-songwriter born on January 21, 1981. He first gained national attention as a member of the duo João Paulo & Teló before launching a solo career in 2009. His 2011 single "Ai Se Eu Te Pego" became a worldwide hit, topping charts in more than 20 countries and establishing him as one of the leading figures in contemporary sertanejo universitário.
