Bio
Rhythm & Sound is a Berlin-based collective formed in 1997 by Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald. The project is renowned for its minimalist dub and dub-techno sound, often featuring sparse rhythms, deep basslines, and subtle vocal fragments. Drawing on Jamaican dub traditions and Detroit techno influences, the group has released a series of influential 12-inch singles and albums on the Basic Channel label and its imprints. Their work helped define the dub-techno genre and continues to resonate in electronic music circles worldwide.
