Punch Brothers is an American progressive bluegrass and newgrass band formed in 2006 in Brooklyn, New York. The group is known for its virtuosic instrumental interplay and complex compositions that blend traditional bluegrass with elements of classical, jazz, and folk music. Led by mandolinist Chris Thile, the band has released several acclaimed albums and is recognized for pushing the boundaries of acoustic string-band music while maintaining deep roots in Americana traditions.
