Bio

Myung-Whun Chung is a South Korean pianist and conductor born in Seoul in 1953. He studied piano at the Juilliard School in New York and began his international career as a pianist before turning to conducting. Chung has held principal positions with several major orchestras, including the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. He is noted for his interpretations of both the standard classical repertoire and contemporary works, and he frequently collaborates with leading soloists and opera companies worldwide.
