Eurythmics were an English pop duo formed in 1980 by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. They rose to international fame in the 1980s with a string of hits that blended synth-driven arrangements with Lennox’s distinctive vocals. Their breakthrough album Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (1983) produced the worldwide hit of the same name and established their signature sound of new wave and synthpop. Over the next decade they released several platinum albums and singles, including “Here Comes the Rain Again,” “Would I Lie to You?,” and “Missionary Man,” before parting ways in the early 1990s.
