Bio
Kool G Rap, born Nathaniel Thomas Wilson on July 20, 1968, in Corona, Queens, New York, is a pioneering figure in East Coast hip hop. Emerging in the late 1980s as part of the Juice Crew collective, he gained recognition for his intricate rhyme schemes and gritty storytelling, helping to shape the hardcore hip hop sound of the era. His debut album, "Road to the Riches" (1989), recorded with DJ Polo, is widely regarded as a cornerstone of golden-age hip hop. Subsequent solo releases such as "Live and Let Die" (1992) and "4,5,6" (1995) further cemented his reputation for vivid narratives and complex lyricism, influencing a generation of rappers including Nas, Eminem, and Big Pun.
