Shubha Mudgal is an Indian singer renowned for her interpretations of Hindustani classical music. Born in Allahabad in 1959, she trained under Pandit Ramashreya Jha and Pandit Vinay Chandra Maudgalya, developing a distinctive style that blends khyal, thumri, and dadra. Beyond the classical repertoire, Mudgal has explored fusion and contemporary genres, collaborating with artists across Indian and Western traditions. Her recordings and performances have helped popularize Hindustani music both within India and internationally.
