Bio

Opetaia Foa'i is a New Zealand composer, singer and musician of Tokelauan and Samoan descent. He is best known for co-writing and performing the songs for Disney's 2016 animated feature Moana, including the Oscar-nominated "We Know the Way." Foa'i leads the world-music ensemble Te Vaka, which blends traditional Pacific instruments and languages with contemporary arrangements, and has released several albums that showcase Polynesian musical heritage.
