Bio
Monique Haas (1909–1987) was a French pianist celebrated for her refined interpretations of French and German repertoire. Born in Paris, she studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and later with Robert Casadesus, developing a style noted for clarity, elegance, and subtle color. She gained international recognition in the mid-20th century through recordings of works by Ravel, Debussy, and Bach, and performed with leading orchestras across Europe and the United States. Haas also championed contemporary French composers, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of 20th-century piano literature.
