The Durutti Column is an English post-punk and art-rock project formed in Manchester in 1978 by guitarist and composer Vini Reilly. Initially part of the Factory Records roster, the group became known for its atmospheric, guitar-led instrumentals that blend minimalism, classical influences, and subtle electronic textures. Over more than four decades the project has released dozens of albums, maintaining a consistent focus on melody and mood rather than conventional song structures. Although Reilly remains the sole constant member, The Durutti Column has occasionally collaborated with other musicians and continues to record and perform.
