DJ Mehdi (1977–2011) was a French producer and DJ from Asnières-sur-Seine, known for his work in the French house scene. He began his career in the late 1990s, producing tracks that blended hip-hop, funk, and electronic music, and became a key figure in the Parisian club scene. He released several solo projects and collaborated with artists such as Daft Punk, Cassius, and the Ed Banger Records collective. His 2007 album Lucky Boy showcased his signature style of groovy, sample-heavy beats and helped cement his reputation in the electronic music community. Mehdi died in 2011 following an accidental fall. His influence on French electronic music continues to be recognized through reissues and tributes from peers and fans.
