R2Bees is a Ghanaian hip-hop duo formed in 2007 by childhood friends Faisal Hakeem (Faisal) and Rashid Mugeez (Mugeez). The pair rose to prominence with their 2009 debut album Da Revolution, which blended hiplife, highlife, and contemporary hip-hop, establishing them as leading figures in Ghana’s urban music scene. Subsequent releases such as Refuse to Be Broke (2012) and the mixtape Tradition (2014) further cemented their reputation for catchy hooks and socially conscious lyrics. Known for hits like “Kiss Your Hand,” “Lagos Party,” and “Gboza,” R2Bees have collaborated with both African and international artists, helping to popularize Ghanaian sounds across the continent and beyond.
