Bio

Matt Berninger is an American singer-songwriter best known as the frontman of the indie-rock band The National. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1971, he has fronted the group since its formation in 1999, contributing distinctive baritone vocals and introspective lyrics across multiple acclaimed albums. In addition to his work with The National, Berninger has released solo material and collaborated with artists such as Menomena’s Brent Knopf in the side project EL VY.
