Daryl Hall & John Oates are an American pop rock duo formed in Philadelphia in 1970. Daryl Hall and John Oates met at Temple University and rose to prominence in the late 1970s and 1980s with a string of chart-topping singles blending blue-eyed soul, soft rock, and R&B. Their signature sound features Hall’s distinctive tenor and Oates’ guitar work, producing hits such as “Rich Girl,” “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” and “Maneater.” The duo has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and earned multiple Grammy nominations. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
