Bio
Robert Johnson (1911–1938) was an American blues musician whose recordings from the 1930s established him as one of the most influential figures in the genre. Born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, he developed a distinctive guitar style and songwriting approach that combined Delta blues traditions with personal, haunting lyrics. His small recorded output—only 29 songs—includes classics such as "Cross Road Blues," "Sweet Home Chicago," and "Love in Vain," which later became standards covered by countless artists. Johnson's work bridged country blues and the emerging Chicago blues sound, influencing generations of musicians in rock, blues, and beyond.
