Good Charlotte is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Waldorf, Maryland. The group rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a pop-punk sound that blended punk energy with catchy melodies and lyrics often drawn from personal experience. Their breakthrough came with the 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless, which produced hits such as "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" and "The Anthem." Subsequent releases like The Chronicles of Life and Death and Good Morning Revival continued to chart internationally, cementing the band’s place in the emo and pop-punk scenes. Over more than two decades, Good Charlotte has maintained a core lineup anchored by twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden while exploring stylistic shifts that range from punk roots to electronic and hip-hop influences, all while sustaining a dedicated global fan base.
