Death Cab for Cutie is an American indie rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington, in 1997. The group rose to prominence in the early 2000s with introspective songwriting and melodic arrangements, releasing a series of critically regarded albums on Barsuk Records before signing with Atlantic. Their music often explores themes of love, loss, and personal reflection, delivered through frontman Ben Gibbard’s distinctive vocals.
