Bio
Jean-Bernard Pommier (born 17 August 1944) is a French pianist and conductor. Born in Béziers, he studied at the Paris Conservatoire and later with Wilhelm Kempff and Pierre Barbizet. He gained international recognition after winning the 1968 Leeds International Piano Competition and has since performed with major orchestras worldwide. In addition to his solo career, Pommier has served as artistic director of the Festival de Musique de Menton and has conducted ensembles such as the Northern Sinfonia. His recordings include the complete Beethoven piano sonatas and works by Schubert, Schumann, and French composers.
