Geto Boys are a Houston-based hip hop group formed in 1986. The group is best known for pioneering Southern rap and for their raw, confrontational style that helped define gangster rap in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Core members have included Bushwick Bill, Scarface, and Willie D, whose lyrics often addressed social issues, mental health, and life in Houston’s Fifth Ward.
