Dove Cameron is an American actress and singer born on January 15, 1996, in Bainbridge Island, Washington. She first gained recognition for her dual roles as the twins Liv and Maddie Rooney on the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie (2013–2017). Cameron has also appeared in several Disney Channel original movies, including Descendants (2015) and its sequels, where she portrayed Mal, the daughter of Maleficent. In addition to her acting career, Cameron has pursued music, releasing singles and contributing to soundtracks for Disney projects. Her work spans both television and music, establishing her as a multifaceted entertainer in the entertainment industry.
