Bio

Steely Dan is an American rock band formed in 1972 by core members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Known for their sophisticated songwriting, jazz-influenced arrangements, and meticulous studio production, they released seven albums during their initial run through 1980. Their music blends rock, jazz, and pop elements, featuring complex harmonies and wry, often cynical lyrics. After a long hiatus, the duo reunited in the 1990s and continued performing and recording until Becker's death in 2017.
