Keigo Oyamada, known professionally as Cornelius, is a Japanese musician, producer, and composer born in Setagaya, Japan in 1969. He is a central figure in the Shibuya-kei movement and is recognized for his innovative approach to plunderphonics, blending pop, electronic, and experimental sounds. Oyamada began his career as a guitarist in the band Flipper's Guitar before launching his solo project Cornelius in the early 1990s. His work is noted for its meticulous production, eclectic sampling, and genre-defying style, earning him international acclaim and collaborations with artists across the globe.
