Ian Fraser Kilmister, known professionally as Lemmy, was an English musician best known as the founder, lead singer, bassist, and primary songwriter of the heavy metal band Motörhead. Born in Burslem, Staffordshire, he began his career in the 1960s playing in various rock and blues bands before forming Motörhead in 1975. His distinctive voice, aggressive bass playing, and rebellious image made him an iconic figure in rock music. Lemmy remained the driving force behind Motörhead until his death in 2015, leaving behind a legacy that influenced countless musicians across rock and metal genres.
