Bio
Gilberto Santa Rosa is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and bandleader widely known as "El Caballero de la Salsa." Born in San Juan in 1962, he began his career in the late 1970s and rose to prominence in the 1980s with his smooth voice and romantic salsa style. Over four decades he has released more than twenty studio albums, earning multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards. His repertoire spans salsa, bolero, and merengue, and he has collaborated with many of Latin music’s most celebrated artists. Santa Rosa remains one of the most respected figures in contemporary salsa, continuing to tour internationally and mentor younger musicians.
