Bio
Indiwar (born Shyamalal Babu Rai, 1 January 1924 – 27 February 1997) was an Indian lyricist and poet who wrote primarily for Hindi-language films. Active from the 1950s onward, he contributed lyrics to numerous Bollywood soundtracks, collaborating with composers such as Shankar–Jaikishan, Kalyanji–Anandji, and Laxmikant–Pyarelal. His work is noted for its simple, emotionally direct language and remains widely recognized in Indian popular music.
